  1. you should use a distance sensor for sensing sensitive things and a bump for heavier things that wont move. We can use a bump sensor to tell where the wall is and stay away from it.

  2. when you need to be a certain distance from something. and a touch to get close to something

    ReplyDelete
  3. a distance sensor is used when you want to be an exact distance away from an object and a touch sensor is for when you just want to stop exactly at the object

    ReplyDelete
  4. Ultrasonic/ Distance sensors are superior to touch/ bump sensors because bump sensors only work when they bump into something, while distance sensors can actually tell how far the robot is from the object, leading to accuracy.

    ReplyDelete
  5. you should use ultra sonic when measuring distance and touch when you have to get close to the object to perform a task

    ReplyDelete
  6. distance measures how long to a target. bumper can signal another action

    ReplyDelete
  7. An ultrasonic sensor can be used when you need to stop at a certain distance. A bump sensor can be used to stop directly infront of a wall

    ReplyDelete
  8. A ultrasonic sensor lets you stop when you are a certain amount of space from an object. A touch sensor lets you stop when it is triggered. I could use the the ultrasonic sensor to tell my robot to stop going backwards.

  9. ultrasonic is to detect what is in front of it sumo or maze, but a touch could be used for wall to wall or to pick something up.

  10. An ultrasonic or distance sensor shows how sees what is in front of it before it's there. But a touch or bumper sensor won't know what's in front of them until they touch it. So I would rather use a ultrasonic sensor to make it easier to know what is happening.

  11. You should use a ultrasonic sensor to use for long range sensing, like a sniper, while a touch sensor is for a short range sensing, like melee combat. The ultrasonic sensor can be used for detecting walls to avoid them, which is what we did for one of the challenges during this program.

  12. You should use the ultrasonic/distance sensor when you want your robot to stop before it hits the wall. You should use a touch/bumper sensor when you want it to hit the wall then back up and turn and continue with what you programmed it to do. In the maze challenge you would have to use the ultrasonic sensor to detect objects. In the touch sensor challenge you would have to use the touch sensor because its called the touch sensor challenge.

  13. You should use a ultrasonic/distance sensor in sumo, so when it senses another robot it goes after it and tries to knock it off. A touch/bumper sensor can be used in a maze, when it hits a wall it knows to turn.

    ReplyDelete
  14. An ultrasonic sensor can be used to detect other robots so you can do things like battle them. A touch sensor can let your robot know that they have ran into something, this can allow the robot to then get unstuck.

    ReplyDelete
  15. The ultrasonic can stop anywhere in the range of the ultrasound waves, while the touch sensor has to touch something to work.

    ReplyDelete
  16. you should use an ultrasonic sensor when you are frighting another bot like in a sumo bot battle because it tells the robot how far away another bot is from itself so it can move or attack but if you where to use a touch sensor it would be to late for the bot to react and your bot would get destroyed

  18. A distance sensor can have distance to it but a touch can only sense it up close.

    ReplyDelete
  19. A distance sensor is used to find objects in front or around the robot and the touch sensor make contact with the object.

    ReplyDelete
  20. distance sensor:when there's another robot in front of it .
touch sensor: when there's a wall or even something touching it.

  21. An ultrasonic/distance sensor can be used in a sumo because it can keep rotating until it finds the enemy robot. A touch/bumper sensor can be used in a maze so when it touches a wall, it can turn around and go some other way.

    ReplyDelete
  22. A touch/bumper sensor would be good for swim triathlon.

    ReplyDelete
  23. touch can be used in swimming challenge

ultra sonic sensor used in sumo

    ReplyDelete
  24. using a ultrasonic sensor would be more useful if you want to sense something without touching it but a bumper you have to press it hard enough for your robot to sense it for example if we wanted to grab a block in the exact place we know its there before pushing it while a bumper will move it until the robot senses the block.

  25. we should use a ultrasonic/distance sensor when ... the touch bumber when it has to touch something. exsample ...

  26. You would use an ultrasonic/distance sensor when you need to go a certain distance or until it senses the object. You would use a touch/bumper sensor so that you can stop once you hit a certain object. Using Vex IQ you would need to use a distance sensor to determine the distance to put the block in the box.

  27. You should use an ultrasonic sensor when doing sumo because it may allow your robot to detect opponents and attack instead of moving without a clue where the enemy is located. A touch sensor is best when doing Triathlon because when doing swimming, the robot will be able to know when do move in the opposite direction.

  28. When you set a command to say when 2 inches away from a block use the claw motor and grab the block. A bump sensor when you need to touch a wall and then back up.

  29. The b tumber senter is going to touch the wall and will go back ward.

    ReplyDelete
  30. With a touch/bumber sensor you could use in aobstacle course and a ultrasonic/distance sensor you could use for batteling.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You would use a ultrasonic sensor to detect a wall on the board or something while you would use a touch sensor to bump into a wall. I could use the bumper sensor in my get the block challenge by going toward the wall and once it bumps, you lower the arm and drop the block in the bucket.

    ReplyDelete
  32. You should use a distance sensor when you need to see something near you .You should use a bumper sensor when you want to back and forth to things. An example is when we were bumping into the walls.

    ReplyDelete
  33. you use an ultrasonic sensor when you want to measure distance like go and stop when you are so far away from a wall and you will use a touch sensor when you want to go to a wall and turn around.

    ReplyDelete
  34. you should use ultrasonic sensors when you are looking for an object and you should use touch sensors when you are doing the swim challange

    ReplyDelete
  35. An ultrasonic sensor could be used in sumo so that the robot can "see" the opponent. A touch sensor can be used in the swim challenge so that the robot knows when to stop and move to the next part of the program.

    ReplyDelete
  36. where you stop see some thing it ultrasonic/distance

    ReplyDelete
  37. I would use a ulrrasonic/distant beacuse it can detect the distan and stop

    ReplyDelete
  38. you should use an ultrasonic/distance sensor when you need to doge something. and an touch/bumper sensor when you can't see anything. you can use an bumper sensor in the swim challenge.

    ReplyDelete
  39. ultrasonic sensors sense distance a touch senor senses objects by hitting them

    ReplyDelete
  40. The ultrasonic sensor is different to the touch sensor because the touch sensor is that is to feel and the ultrasonic is the seeing from distance.

    ReplyDelete
  41. WITH AN ultrasonic you can use it in a wall and it teast were things are
ll the robot f and with the touch you have to get closer

    ReplyDelete
  42. You will use a ultrasonic sensor when you are versing a opponent on sumo. A touch sensor will be useful in swim because you have to touch the wall to go backwards or forwards.

    ReplyDelete
  43. You should use an ultrasonic sensor in sumo and a touch sensor in the swimming (Triathlon). A touch sensor is better for swimming because it let's your robot know when to go forwards and when to go backwards.

    ReplyDelete
  44. You should use a ultrasonic sensor when you want to stop before you hit something .You should use a touch sensor when you want to bump something and want to go the other direction. It can be used with the rocket.

    ReplyDelete
  45. A ultrasonic sensor would be useful for Sumo class and can help you in a bot battle. A touch sensor would be useful if the robot is trying to tell what its touching and it is good for swim

    ReplyDelete
  46. Today was a good day we worked hard and finished a lot of work for the showcase on Tuesday. You should an ultrasonic sensor to sense objects before the robot hits them. A bump sensor should be used when needed to make contact with an object. Tomorrow will be a good day.

I would say the distance sensor would be used when you need to know something is close but you cant touch it. The touch sensor would be used when you would want touch the robot. Well we would have to use the distance robot on sumo and the touch robot would be used for the swim challenge.

    ReplyDelete
  48. You should use a ultrasonic sensor like when you are doing a challenge like sumo when you have to sense another robot or things around you so you don't crash into them.A Touch sensor you use when you hit something and you either for it to stop or reverse.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Use Ultrasonic when looking for something and touching when you are going back and forth. Swimming and Sumo.

    ReplyDelete
  50. you use an ultra sonic scensor when you want to detect distance and you use a touch scensor to detect a wall and move a different direction or stop

    ReplyDelete
  51. when you use a ultrasonic sensor its for far away things and a touch sensor is for close thing and you need a touch sensor for the swim challenge.

    ReplyDelete
  52. we use the ultra sonic sensor is in sumo battles used to detect distance and a bump sensor is used for maybe if you run in to something it reacts to him.

    ReplyDelete
  53. ultrasonic would be better in sumo because touch would back away from the enemy and touch will be better in triathlon swim race because ultrasonic will not stop the bot from hitting the wall

    ReplyDelete
  54. You should use an ultrasonic sensor when you do sumo it is really good for that reason and for example you can use it in sumo.

    ReplyDelete
  55. you want to use the ultrasonic sensor when you want to detect something such as the sumo challenge you want to know where the other robot is. on the other hand you want the touch sensor to do a certain task when or if it is touched so in the swimming challenge you want the touch sensor to touch the wall and go in reverse way to touch the other wall, and to do that you have to detect if it is touched.

You should use an ultrasonic/distance sensor when sensing distance from far away, for example when we are doing Sumo, you will need to detect the other bot and attack it, otherwise they will beat you easily and quickly making a short and uninterested match. Now a ultrasonic/distance sensor detects items more farther and it is more sensitive, but the best part about an ultrasonic/distance sensor is you do not need to hit the item to detect it and react. While with a touch/bumper sensor it offers some of the same traits by detecting items a bit farther and it is sensitive, but it needs to tap the item rather than just detecting it.

  57. An ultrasonic sensor is best when you need to sense an object but not touch. The ultrasonic sensor would be used in the sumo bot competition so you would not have to go so close to your opponent. The touch sensor is used when you actually need to touch the object to complete the challenge you are competing in. In my opinion the swim needs the touch sensor to know when to turn around.

    ReplyDelete
  58. If you want to get close too something but you can't touch it, you should use the distance sensor. However if you want to touch something you should use the touch sensor. For the sumo bots you should use the ultrasonic sensor so that you don't have to get really close to the opponent. For Can sweep and swim you should use the touch .

  59. with the ultrasonic sensor to dogge objects and the touch sensor to hit something u can use it to do a race

    ReplyDelete
  60. You would use a ultrasonic sensor in a sumo challenge so you can detect the opponent. You would use a touch sensor in the swim challenge so when the robot touches the wall it can go to according to the downloaded program.

  61. The touch and the bumper sensor can be used to do the swim challenge.Because when the touch sensor hits the wood and the bumper will

    ReplyDelete
  62. ultrasonic sensor is best because it measures distance to an object echolocation

    ReplyDelete
  63. The difference between a ultrasonic sensor and a touch sensor is a ultrasonic is it detects thing and attacks a touch is when it
    hits something it stops

    ReplyDelete
  64. a ultrasonic sensor is used to stop the robot from crashing into objects. a touch sensor is used to stay away from an object if touched. ultrasonic and sensors can be used in triathlon.
